Recap of Letter Writing Event

Thanks to all that participated in the Letter Writing event last night at the Library!  As promised, here is the presentation we used last night, which includes the contact emails for the policymakers to whom we are writing letters.

CPSG – Comp Plan letter writing

Here are main points we discussed:

• We are advocating for increase density in the Comprehensive Plan for the CP Commercial Area during the upcoming amendment process
• Send one email at a time to each policy maker, even if the content is the same for each of your emails
• Make your case from your own point of view
• Add any personal connection to the policy maker you are writing

We also discussed the recent ULI report on Housing in Rock Creek West (Ward 3).  You can find that report here.  You can reference this report, which was sponsored by DC’s Office of Planning, in your emails as being supportive of adding mixed use to the commercial area.
